For those of you not in Sioux Falls, we want to give an update on who Moravia is becoming:)
She has such a big personality that is blossoming forth, and she does new things everyday. She is almost 10 months old and is crawling everywhere! She just found out how to open pantry doors and bathroom cabinet doors, so we must by necessity go to the next level of babyproofing. We bought her some magnetic alphabet letters for the fridge, but this has heightened her awareness of what the fridge is so she usually comes storming into the kitchen to take a look at all the exciting things to touch when someone opens it.
She LOVES outside; saying hi to our chickens and pretending to be like them sometimes in her squawking tone. Grandma and Grandpa Blosser bought her a swing and she loves it. She now knows what the word “outside” means and heads to the back door if she wants to go swing. We play this game with her on the swing called “where’s Moravia?” She thinks its the best ever, we look around the yard for her and then go, “oh there you are!” and she laughs… it usually involves a little bit of tickling too.
She also likes taking baths, mostly just to have time with Daddy (sometimes he can’t help it and gets in with his clothes on to have fun with her) and to play with her ducks. She doesn’t really like getting dressed after the bath. She is VERY strong and it usually takes 2 people to give her a diaper change most days, which involves lots of distraction and sometimes some crying.
She has eaten mostly eggs the last two weeks, we have no idea why but she goes “uhhh” “uhh” in very excited grunts when she sees an egg or if she sees us scrambling it for her on the stove. She will eat the whole thing by herself and swallows the chunks whole. Other than that, she eats veggies and fruit chunks. This past week she had chicken, beef and fish for the first time and loved all of them. She drinks water from her sippy cup and one time we even gave her coconut milk-wow yum she downed it!
Two days ago, i was eating a big carrot and then gave her a big chunk for her to gnaw on. (Nope no teeth yet!) She realized i was chewing after i took off a piece of carrot, so she started copying me. She gnawed it, then smacked her lips together for awhile, and then did it all over again. SO hilarious!
We are LOVING this stage of her life. Every day brings new things.
She has gotten into more of a rhythm of sleep (for about 2 months now she reverted back into infant sleep through the night it seemed) needless to say, Jeff and I are sleep deprived. But we are getting out of that stage! She has only been up 1-2 times through the night the last week.
She loves to laugh, play peekaboo, and loves to be chased and tickled. And she loves the prayer room. Usually she sings louder than the singers on stage, which is so funny to everyone in the room (hopefully…) She likes reading books, but mostly just to flip the pages by herself. If she is really tired she’ll let us read it to her.
So far, it seems like she is an extrovert, a singer, will be able to stand up for what she wants in life, loves to process out loud (like her mom!), and maybe be an athlete (to the excitement of her dad!). Jeff tells me today, “You can see her deltoids! She is so strong!” haha.
That’s it! I hope that makes you feel like you know her a little better now:)
